Kanetsugu Pro S knives have Katana Handle motif of hollow 18-8 stainless steel handles seamlessly fitted to their blades. This knife comes with 50/50 double bevel edge geometry for both right and left handed use.
For your information, Japanese Kitchen knives are generally designed for right hand use with a slightly thicker and rounded grinding on the right side blade and a less rounded (almost straight flat) grinding on the left side blade. However, both right and left hander can use the knives that have double bevel edge sharpened 50/50 without problems.

I bought couple of Pro-S knives to add to my collection, mainly because I wanted something which I can put to my dishwasher. Once arrived I started to use the knives on my kitchen and I was surprised how good these inexpensive knives are! The steel is basic, but - in many cases I just need a good knife and not need this extreme sharpness of more expensive steels! I’m very happy with pro-S. Very good knife, you get much more than you paid.
A little on the light side in the handle, but very comfortable and ergonomic. Blade holds edge very well and as a petty knife is perfect for the job. Very satisfied with it
I bought this knife this 2 other for my girl friend as a first step in japanese knife world, about a year ago. She was'nt use at this intermediat size between offie knife and chef knife. It's now a favourite knife for most of her need. The legance of the handle was a plus to her she use it for any reception.
