This knife comes with 50/50 double bevel edge geometry for both right and left handed use.
For your information, Japanese Kitchen knives are generally designed for right hand use with a slightly thicker and rounded grinding on the right side blade and a less rounded (almost straight flat) grinding on the left side blade. However, both right and left hander can use the knives that have double bevel edge sharpened 50/50 without problems.

Cutting performance was phenomenal as always with this blade construction & steel. I'm a huge fan of Aogami Super Blue...takes a razor edge & holds it well, resharpening is easy when needed. Great value for the $...highly recommend. Only negative for me is the small handle size; wife loves it but a bit small for my big hands.
I am pleased to find Aogami Super with a good grind for this price. However I have to advise to not expect a high or flawless level of finish of the handle and bolster or a even 50/50 edge with a good sharpness out of the box. After edge reprofiling and sharpening the knife I think lives up to its description completely, which i believe really highlights what the deep impact knives are all about. I am looking forward to using this knife for many years to come.
