Generally, Japanese kitchen knives are designed for right hand use with a slightly thicker and rounded grinding on the right side blade and a less rounded (almost straight flat) grinding on the left side blade. Misono produces 100% left handed version with suitable blade grind angle and edge geometry from the beginning process.
We believe the quality and cutting performance of Japanese knives are the best in the world, and hope you enjoy the fine craftsmanship and sharp edge of your new knife. With proper cares, every Japanese knife should be your special cooking partner for a long time.
This is the Carbon steel blade kitchen knife that can get rust and discolor easily, and requires extra care and attention to prevent rust.
I bought my first Misono Swedish steel santoku from this site in 2008. It continues to be my favourite knife and the one I use for almost everything. It is light but solid, and I like the balance. It picked up a black patina after about a week but hasn’t been prone to rust. It sharpens easily and has very good edge retention. After 10 years the handle is still in excellent condition. The knife is thin and definitely can’t be used for prying. Someone broke the tip this way, so now I’ve got a shorter santoku. I recently replaced it with another of the same model.
I bought three Misono Swedish carbon steel knives and they’re absolutely beautiful. Everytime I use them they add to the patina that makes them unique and mine. Love them - now I’ll learn how to sharpen them :)
Best Knives, Best Prices, Same day Mailing, wonderful communication! You cannot go wrong! Highly recommend! 5 Stars ⭐️
Sharp ootb, great balance. I really didn’t need a santoku, but glad I got it. Building up a great patina.
