From my first glance of this beautiful knife, I knew it should be called "Gekko”, or 月光, which means "Moonlight" in Japanese. From every angle, the Gekko knife reminded me of the way that the shape and light of the Moon changes each night.
Gekko knife has a unique & beautiful Tsuchime (“Hammered pattern”) textured Damascus blade. They feature a hand sharpened and hand honed VG-10 stainless steel blade core that is clad on both sides by a 15-layer Damascus stainless steel (HRc. 60-61. 50/50 symmetrically ground double beveled edge).
Gekko knife uses a full-tang construction, and has Mahogany wood handle with a stainless steel bolster and handle rivets.
The tall blade and rounded nose / tip of the Santoku make it a versatile knife that is well suited to cutting meat, fish, or vegetables; Hence it’s name, which literally means “Three-purpose”. The Santoku is often recommended as a multi-purpose kitchen knife.

It’s a very good knife. It’s got eye appeal and for the price it’s excellent value for money!
I bought it for my wife. She love it , she like the damascus and hammered pattern in it. It’s super sharp out of the box. Since we had these hand forged japanese kitchen knives about a month ago we put away our other kitchen knives and use only these knives in our kitchen. Handmade japanese forged knife is so sharp , light weight and so comfortable to use. Thank you JCK for making a good quality kitchen knives.
