Raiun knife has a beautiful layers of Damascus blade which is slightly Up-Swept blade shape for fine grip and efficient cutting process. This knife features a hand sharpened and hand honed VG-10 Damascus stainless steel blade (HRc. 60-61. 50/50 symmetrically ground double beveled edge).
Raiun knife has Oval shape of Red-Sandalwood handle with black pakka wood ferrule.

This knife comes with 50/50 double bevel edge geometry for both right and left handed use.
For your information, Japanese Kitchen knives are generally designed for right hand use with a slightly thicker and rounded grinding on the right side blade and a less rounded (almost straight flat) grinding on the left side blade. However, both right and left hander can use the knives that have double bevel edge sharpened 50/50 without problems.

Bought the knife as a gift for my mother. She loves cooking Asian cuisine and this knife fits her need perfectly. Its a great size and it looks beautiful. The shape of the blade is pretty wide at the bottom so finding an open spot in her western knife block was a challenge but she found a home for it with a little moving around.
Purchased the knife after reading a review of the best paring knives. It didn’t disappoint. The blade is razor sharp, it’s easy to handle, and the engraving a colour of the blade is nice. The reason for 4 star instead of 5? The tang? where the blade goes into the handle, is a little weak and I can smell the glue. It’s a thin delicate blade as it is but it gave me the perception I could snap the blade off or jimmy it out if I really tried. It’s not loose by any means, just a feeling. I would still highly recommend this knife to anyone who wants something of quality
