Black Lacquered Wooden Saya for Gyuto 210mm

Availability: Normally ships the same day

A Wooden Saya (Sheath / scabbard) is one of the most common knife accessories and it is the best way to safely store your knife when you are not using it, or when you are travelling.  This Saya is made of Magnolia wood and has a decorative Black Lacquered finish that beautifully matches Black or Dark-colored wooden handles. Many Japanese knife makers use Black Pakka Wood for the handle scales of their Western-style Kitchen Knives, and these knives look very neat and stylish with a Black Lacquered Saya.  Each Wooden Saya comes with a Black Pakka Wood pin (Used to secure the knife) and is carefully hand crafted to fit to each individual blade.   Our Wooden Saya For Gyuto 210 mm is suitable for: Hattori HD-7 & FH-6; JCK KAGAYAKI KG-6, KV-5, & KC-5; Masamoto VG-5021, ST-5021, HC-5021, & CT-5021; Misono No.512, No.562, No.812, No.112 & No.712; Hiromoto TJ-25AS, TJ-25G3, TD-3; SHIKI STD-4, SKC-5, & SDM-5; Kanetsugu PM-5, PS-5, PJ-4, & SD-5; Glestain 821TK & 721TK; Fujiwara Kanefusa FKM No.9, FKS No.24, & FKH-5; JCK Gekko GE-4M; JCK INAZUMA IN-4. *Important Information About Purchasing a Wooden Saya:  You may already know that knives produced by different manufacturers will vary in their dimensions, for example: Hattori’s Gyuto 210 mm and Misono’s Gyuto 210 mm have different blade spine thickness and a different blade width, even though they are the same blade type and share the same blade length. Due to these slight differences, there is a possibility that the Wooden Saya will not fit your knife properly (Especially if it is a traditional hammer forged knife, as the blade spine is often quite thick near the bolster or ferrule).    Wooden Sayas are entirely hand crafted, so the exact size, thickness and interior cavity space will vary. Sayas are usually custom made to fit each individual knife blade, so, if you purchase one for a knife you already own, there is a possibility that it will not fit perfectly.    In order to avoid this problem, we strongly recommend purchasing a Saya at the same time as your knife, so that the necessary adjustments can be made during the fitting process.  Also we regret that, due to the high cost of shipping low-priced items, it is not acceptable to order a wooden Saya (Sheath / Scabbard) on its own; To save on shipping costs, please purchase your Saya along with other items that can be shipped together.

    Lacquered Wooden Saya

I've purchased several lacquered wooden saya's and the quality is excellent. The Honesuki style saya's are a very good fit for my Takeshi Saji petty knives.

    Unique Offering

This saya is absolutely stunning visually, and the photos on the site truly don't do it justice: it's VERY aesthetically pleasing; and at least in my experience--there isn't a better looking retail saya on the market. The fit and finish are high quality. The laquered finish is matte black with glossy spots, super clean look. I bought this for my Takamura Migaki R2 gyuto, and there is a small amount of play when the blade is inserted in the saya, but I expected this as the Takamura profiles are textbook lasers. This particular knife won't see a ton of travel, and I took that into consideration and didn't expect a proper friction fit. I'm in the Midwest US, and I have to give a proper nod to Loki, who promptly answered my questions and explained the shipping process out of Japan and went out of their way to ensure a quality customer service experience. Bravo. I will DEFINITELY do business with this company again. 10/10.

    Match made in heaven

So I bought this saya to go with the knife purchase I made and it fit perfectly. The fit and finish of this saya is extremely good and the pin to keep the knife inside the saya while not in use is a very nice addition. Definitely would recommend.
