Black Lacquered Wooden Saya for Gyuto 180mm

Availability: Normally ships the same day

A Wooden Saya (Sheath / scabbard) is one of the most common knife accessories and it is the best way to safely store your knife when you are not using it, or when you are travelling.  This Saya is made of Magnolia wood and has a decorative Black Lacquered finish that beautifully matches Black or Dark-colored wooden handles. Many Japanese knife makers use Black Pakka Wood for the handle scales of their Western-style Kitchen Knives, and these knives look very neat and stylish with a Black Lacquered Saya.  Each Wooden Saya comes with a Black Pakka Wood pin (Used to secure the knife) and is carefully hand crafted to fit to each individual blade.

Our Wooden Saya of Gyuto180mm is Suitable for: Hattori HD-6, JCK KAGAYAKI KG-5. Masamoto VG-5018, ST-5018, HC-5018, CT-5018. Misono No.511, No.561, No.811, No.111, No.711. Ryusen RD-4. Hiromoto TJ-30AS, TJ-30G3. SHIKI STD-3, SKC-4, SDM-4. Kanetsugu PM-4, PS-4.Glestain 818TK. Fujiwara Kanefusa FKM No.8, FKS No.23, FKH-4, JCK Gekko GE-4SM, JCK Inazuma IN-4S.

*Important Information About Purchasing a Wooden Saya:  You may already know that knives produced by different manufacturers will vary in their dimensions, for example: Hattori’s Gyuto 210 mm and Misono’s Gyuto 210 mm have different blade spine thickness and a different blade width, even though they are the same blade type and share the same blade length. Due to these slight differences, there is a possibility that the Wooden Saya will not fit your knife properly (Especially if it is a traditional hammer forged knife, as the blade spine is often quite thick near the bolster or ferrule).    Wooden Sayas are entirely hand crafted, so the exact size, thickness and interior cavity space will vary. Sayas are usually custom made to fit each individual knife blade, so, if you purchase one for a knife you already own, there is a possibility that it will not fit perfectly.    In order to avoid this problem, we strongly recommend purchasing a Saya at the same time as your knife, so that the necessary adjustments can be made during the fitting process.  Also we regret that, due to the high cost of shipping low-priced items, it is not acceptable to order a wooden Saya (Sheath / Scabbard) on its own; To save on shipping costs, please purchase your Saya along with other items that can be shipped together.

Nice sheath

This a really well fitting sheath. It is a little tight right now, but will come to fit perfect as I use it. The wood at lacquer look beautiful.

Saya Review

The Saya supplied is well made and very light. Using this to protect the knife when carried in a Chef’s knife roll adds no appreciable weight and given the value of the knife makes perfect sense. The Saya was shipped quickly and matching your chosen Knife with the Saya you require can be requested if purchased with the Knife. Excellent service!

Nice Design

Not only does it look great, it fit the knife well right out of the box. I bought to protect a 180mm Natures Inazuma Gyuto and it was a gift to my brother - his first Japanese knife.
