The "SHIKI" series knives
are being produced by Hiro Knives Co., Ltd. in Seki-City under
the supervision of Mr. Hiro Masui, the owner, craftsman and
designer.
Hiro was born in Seki, Japanese cutlery
capital, and was involved with knifemaking work at the age of
16. While learning knifemaking techniques at young age, he has
also studied designing work at Musasino School of Art.
So far, he has been mainly producing high
quality Outdoor Sports knives in his original design and
function, but after years of search and development, he has
started making kitchen knives in 2006. As the new comer, he
does not want to make an ordinal knife, but something
different from others in the handle and blade materials and
finish. Based on his creative ideas and hand contouring and
finishing techniques backed by the long experience of
Sports knifemaking, he is turning out various "SHIKI"
series kitchen knives with exotic blade and handle
materials, that are unique in apperance and comfotable in
hand. In just two years, his continuous search and effort have
much improved the total quality of his knives in cutting
efficiency, weight balance and total apperance. Hiro will
continue to improve and develop new
products.
