    This is our new attempt and new concept for JCK Original Brand.  We would like to develop more Wa-style Japanese Traditional taste forged knives(˜a•—‘Őn•¨) and expand the Wa Style knives selections under the•——Ρ‰ΞŽR brand name.

    For our new Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan Brand Wa Series, we have closely worked with Master Forge-Smith Master Asai in Takefu City where has been famous for traditional hammer forged knives (Echizen Uchi-Hamono).

    Master Asai is recognized as one of the most experienced and skillful forge-smiths from Takefu City. Master Asai Masami is the 5th generation of Asai Forge-Smith family and now over 66 years old, having over 40 years of knife making experiences.  We have enjoyed working with this great forge-smith to produce our gKAGAYAKIh brand Aogami Super Custom Damascus Wa-Series knives, which are one of our popular Carbon Steel Japanese Traditional Style knives and having positive feedbacks from our customers.

    Now here are the new Traditional forged knives from Master Asai, using the Special Powdered High Speed Tool Steel material gR-2h, a proven steel for outstanding cutting performance with a longer edge retention and good rust resistance (easy maintenance).

    Master Asai is experienced craftsman, yet he is still active and keen to new steel and aggressive for making his original knives. We always enjoy seeing his new idea and new method of unique custom knives whenever we see each other.

    We have requested Master Asai to use R-2 Powdered high speed tool steel material with his fine hammer forging process. His hammer forging technique makes the steel components finer and stabilized for much better cutting performance, resulting this R-2 blade is comparable with other famous powdered steels "ZDP-189 and Cowry-X" in term of the edge retemtion.

    It also features Master Asaifs original method and idea of Damascus blade with repeated circled layers. He called this unique Damascus layered patterns as gUzushioh(whirlpools)

    Sparkling white&silver(nickel) vortex Damascus layers patterns in Dark Grayish Colored blade is elegantly matches with beautiful natural wood texture of Octagon Shape Red-Sandalwood handle with Black Pakka Wood ferrules.

    For those who demand extra cutting performance over the stainless steel blade, and for those who seek something more Japanese Traditional taste, unique Damascus knives,  we are proud to introduce and recommend these new traditional forged knives.

    Total 5 kinds of essential and popular blades are now available for sale.  Wa Gyuto 240mm and Wa Sujihiki 270mm will be added later for more selection.

    Due to the hand forging process, the thickness on the tang varies on each model, but it tapers to tip consistently for the best cutting performance. Double bevel edge 50/50 shape.

  We regret to make announcement that experienced forge-smith Master Asai passed away with his age of 66 years old. His knives are always beautiful and have spirits and souls in inside. We miss him and his great works of fine knives.

  Master Asai selected the talented forge-smith Master Yamamoto to continue his business. Master Yamamoto is talented and passionate forge-smith who has been working with Master Asai and another famous forge-smith for over decades. We can feel same spirits and craftsmanship from Master Yamamoto and we are proud to continue selling these fine traditional hammer forged knives.
