Years ago, I bought one of these and put it away without using it. I came across it recently and was bowled over at how beautiful it is. I’ve been on a hunt to find out what it was Euntil just now. To put this in perspective, my favourites are the JCK Original Kagayaki R-2 Damascus Series with forged blade; they truly are a thing of beauty. My everyday knives are Hiromoto Tenmi Jyuraku Damascus VG10 and Aogami Super. At 2.2mm, the SHIKI Black Dragon has noticeably more weight in its blade that the Kagayaki R-2 Damascus. The cheeks are polished enough so that it feels good to cut deeply with it. If you’re looking for beautiful western-style knife without western writing on it, and with good steel at its core, this one really is a strong candidate.
