From my first glance of this beautiful knife, I knew it should be called "Gekko”, or 月光, which means "Moonlight" in Japanese. From every angle, the Gekko knife reminded me of the way that the shape and light of the Moon changes each night.

This knife comes with 50/50 double bevel edge geometry for both right and left handed use.
For your information, Japanese Kitchen knives are generally designed for right hand use with a slightly thicker and rounded grinding on the right side blade and a less rounded (almost straight flat) grinding on the left side blade. However, both right and left hander can use the knives that have double bevel edge sharpened 50/50 without problems.
We believe quality and performance of Japanese knives are best in the world and hope you enjoy fine craftsmanship and spirits from your new knife. With proper cares, every Japanese knife can be your special cooking partner for long time.
This is the Stainless steel blade kitchen knife, which has good rust resistance for easy maintenance. However even stainless steel blade kitchen knife has rust situation if you leave it with wet condition.
This is my first purchase of a quality knife. Previously I've always used cheap generic chef knives. This knife arrives shave sharp (I did a shave ready test with it and it passed. I think it would be dangerous to actually shave with, so don't do that.) With regular maintenance and care, this knife will stay shave ready sharp, which is great for almost everything you might need a kitchen knife for.
Its so good I love it
All in all everything was perfect. It starts with the whole order process which was very easy. We ordered the knifes from Germany and they came, how promised, within a week. Furthermore, we wanted the knifes wrapped as a Christmas presents and the wrapping was quite pretty. Now the most important part: The knifes. We bought two of the “Gekko Kagami” knifes and we are happy with them. The quality seems very good, they are laying smooth in the hand and the sharpness is how promised.
Since the pandemic started, I have been cooking a lot at home. I already own a Wustof chef's knife. I was on the lookout on something lighter and smaller. After researching extensively online, I stumbled upon JCK's 'Gekko Kagami'. This knife really caught my eye because of how beautiful it looked! I ordered it with the saya (which is exquisite!). The ordering was quite seamless and the delivery was really quick. The knife is super sharp and looks beautiful in person as well!. Very happy with the purchase and will recommend highly!
