Since my first glance, I knew that these beautiful Damascus knives should be called "Uzushio" (渦潮), which means "Whirling Tides" in Japanese. The beautiful and unique Vortex Damascus pattern of the "Uzushio" knife reminded me of tidal waves, which each have a unique shape that is constantly changing.
Each knife has a unique and beautiful Vortex Damascus blade. They feature a hand sharpened, hand honed VG-10 stainless steel blade core that is clad on both sides with 33 layers of nickel-stainless Damascus steel (HRc. 60-61. Double bevel blade with 50/50 symmetrical grind).
The knives feature a full-tang construction, Black Pakka Wood handles scales, a stainless steel bolster and stainless steel handle rivets/pins.
Whether you are looking to buy your first Japanese knife, or looking for a beautiful Damascus knife, our moderately priced range of high quality "Uzushio" knives are highly recommended.
The tall blade and rounded nose / tip of the Santoku make it a versatile knife that is well suited to cutting meat, fish, or vegetables; Hence it’s name, which literally means “Three-purpose”. The Santoku is often recommended as a multi-purpose kitchen knife.

For your information, Japanese Kitchen knives are generally designed for right hand use with a slightly thicker and rounded grinding on the right side blade and a less rounded (almost straight flat) grinding on the left side blade. However, both right and left hander can use the knives that have double bevel edge sharpened 50/50 without problems.

This is the Stainless steel blade kitchen knife, which has good rust resistance for easy maintenance. However even stainless steel blade kitchen knife has rust situation if you leave it with wet condition.
This knife has been a pleasure to use and is extremely nice to look at it. It has completely changed my cutting game. The case is also really useful, but the lock for the case can be a Little annoying to use. Overall great knife.
I bought this for a family member as a gift. He is very pleased with the product. He says it cuts better than any knife he's used, and he also likes the sheath that came with it to keep it (and his hands) safe. Shipping was fast and easy to track. I would recommend this site and these knives to others.
I have many japanese knifes, including misono. And this knife is really really good. Nothing really to complain about. Handle is awesomw, fit and finish is great. VG10 is a hard steel, definitely harder than molybdenum. That is why it holds edge very well. By the way it is also assymtrically ground, that is why so many ppl find it so sharp ;) Damascus is also nice, but because it has etched structure it seems like it was rather engraved with laser or some sort rather than anything natural.
A very comfortable every day knife, very sharp! Highly recommended!
I purchased this knife as a gift for my friend and he was really pleased. He told me that it cuts like ****. I almost kept it for for myself cos its a beautiful santoku. The shipping was so fast, it took 3 days after the order. I live in Quebec Canada. Merci
